There was a split second there where his like, “wait, what? bro what are you doing?”
On more serious note, PTSD dogs for veterans are so fucking therapeutic. They’re like the one person you can spill your guts to and never worry about ever being judged or have that secret divulged. There are times when I definitely prefer the company of a dog over a human.

Therapy animals save lives.

These dogs are even still so much more amazing. They check rooms before their handler enters, so they can clear it to help the person feel safe. Like in the gif, they are there when panic attacks or nightmares occur, to be something for the person to help ground themselves on, or yes just to turn on the lights. Even more amazing, many people are able to reduce their medication when they have a PTSD service dog there to help them. These dogs are useful for not just veterans, but also victims of abuse, accident trauma, natural disasters, and others. Their training allows them to be useful in situations where medical assistance is needed, as well. Some PTSD dogs are trained to recognize repetitive behaviours in handlers, and signal the handler to break the repetition and stopping the behaviour and possibly injury.
Service dogs in general are just awesome. Remember to respect any that you see out in public. They are not there for you to walk up to and play with, even the puppies!

nobody will read this but just adding my personal experience and two cents!
i use to actually work at a place that trained service dogs and actually specialized and had a special grant for donating trained dogs to soldiers with PTSD. they also trained dogs for various other conditions from elderly people wheel chair bound, to parents with children with low functioning autism to people prone to common and extreme seizures.
there was one man in particular that came to the training center who’s PTSD was so severe that he would wake up in the middle of the night trying to strangle his wife.
he had a wonderful dog that was trained to wake him up if he got to violent in his sleep as well as get between him and anyone approaching him from behind (as this would often startle the man and cause him to go violent out of reflex).
he was a trained soldier and a potentially very dangerous man who snapped very easily due to extreme PSTD. his service dog potentially saved lives. service dogs are a great thing that are a necessity for a lot of people
however on that note, I would also like to add (and this is where a lot of people are probably gonna get mad at me), not everyone needs a service animal. A sad fact is a lot of service animals are not taken seriously. While working at the training center, I heard many stories about how people had to literally threaten to call the police on establishments for refusing them service unless they left the animal outside. this was not one or two stories. this was a frequent thing and part of the service dog training course was literally training the person on how to handle confrontation against their service dog and prove they have the legal right to be there.
with that said, i am seeing a surprising number of people lately who are trying to make their common pets into service animals. i’m very sorry but i am highly against this. many people are attempting to do this literally for the benefits of being able to take your pet wherever you please or avoid pet charges when renting. this is bad.
At Christmas I visited some family in a retirement community. While I was there, I was attacked by a service dog. I can almost guarantee you this dog was not a properly trained service dog and SHOULD NOT have had the service dog vest on. Whether it was obtained through one of these “register your pet” websites floating around (Which Cesar Millan himself speaks heavily against) or through falsely calling his dog a service animal (which is illegal), IT WAS AN AGGRESSIVE ANIMAL THAT WAS ALLOWED TO GO ANYWHERE THE OWNER WAS. IN A RETIREMENT COMMUNITY. I’m just glad I was the one who was attacked instead of a elderly person because I at least had the reflexes to pull back in time.
This is an extreme case. I also know people who have wanted to get their untrained chihuahuas registered as “service animals” simply under the reason “they help me feel less stressed.” Now Chihuahuas can be service animals and I’ve met a few wonderfully helpful ones myself, however, making your average pet a service animal is EXTREMELY irresponsible and makes the entire service animal community look bad.
It’s very unfortunate that service dogs are not taken seriously unless you are blind or blatantly physically disabled, however claiming your untrained cat or dog is a “service animal” does not help this case. Registering your dog as a service animal just so you can avoid the pet fee and then having it be destructive just makes the apartment managers bitter about allowing service animals in and will make them give REAL service dogs for people who REALLY need them a harder time.
i understand there are people out there who legitimately are benefited from needing a service animal, but that number is small. what most people need is a pet. lately i have been seeing a LOT of perfectly healthy people trying to make pets into service animals and it’s not good. yes, it’s unfortunate that you have to pay extra to keep your dog or cat in an apartment. yes, it’d be fun if you could take your pet to restaurants and movie theatres.
but PLEASE. unless this animal is legitimately helping you with something that impedes your every day life and stops you from functioning like a normal person, just get a pet. service dogs are a very important and serious necessity for some people. don’t help add to the problem of society not taking mental disability service dogs seriously. some people really need service animals and pretending your pet is one only makes it all the more difficult for these people to deal with their every day lives.
just something to keep in mind if anyone is considering getting a “service animal.” PLEASE think about it and consider if you really need a service animal or if you just need a pet.

For Windows.

My friends and I occasionally have this problem so I’ve taught them this simple method that takes less than a minute as opposed to waiting several for your computer to restart(especially if it’s slow).

What’s great about this method is that sometimes restarting your computer wont fix the problem, but this usually will.

MAKE SURE YOU CLOSE ALL YOUR ART APPS.

This is important, otherwise the changes wont take effect. If it doesn’t work the first time, try again, sometimes it takes restarting it more than once.

For Windows 8, search for “services.msc” in your apps and click on the result. Continue from there!

Now go draw, babies!
